Williams believes he has improved his performance

Williams still has a long way to go to hope to score points. Robert Kubica and George Russell are the only ones with Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) to not have finished in the Top 10 at the end of the first six Grands Prix of the season, but the Grove team announced that it had been able to improve its performance with the FW42.

“After the race and testing in Barcelona, we believe we have managed to improve the performance of the FW42 by optimizing our understanding of the car and the tires, says chief race engineer Dave Robson. We still don't know if we will be able to prove this in Monaco knowing that we will have to make changes to the car so that it is optimal on this circuit and on the confidence that the drivers must have throughout the weekend. »

The Monaco GP could be a great opportunity for the Williams to shine on this atypical track located in the middle of the city, so different from most of the other tracks on the calendar.

“We know that Monaco can hold some surprises and we will be ready to exploit our excellent reliability and efficient stops to seize every opportunity that presents itself”, underlines the engineer.

Williams failed in 16th and 17th place last year with Sergey Sirotkin and Lance stroll.
