Williams Racing presents its FW38

Williams Racing is the first team to present its car of the 2016 season while winter testing will begin on Monday February 22. After securing third place in the Constructors' Championship for the last two years, the Grove team will seek to optimize its performance before the regulations change in the coming seasons.

“The FW37 (from the 2015 season) was a competitive car and we looked for areas where we could improve while maintaining the qualities,” explained Pat Symonds, technical director of Williams Racing. “The FW37 struggled particularly at low speeds and we spent a lot of time to understand why. »

“We made a list of things to improve with the FW38 back in mid-January 2015 when the FW37 hadn't even rolled yet. With the FW37, we were able to see exactly what we wanted to design on the FW38… Onlookers will also notice a more sustained noise. We have gained power in terms of combustion. The engine should be 12% louder and have a throatier sound”, specified the British engineer.
