In search of liquidity in recent years, Williams has perhaps just completed a nice deal with a view to its future in Formula 1. The English team announced the signing of a partnership with “ long term » with Gulf Oil International.

« I am incredibly excited about this partnership between Williams Racing and Gulf, a renowned and trusted global brand, who has placed their trust in us as a long-term partner, says impatiently Matthew Savage, chairman of the board of directors of Williams Racing. This is testament to the strength of our brand and commercial offering as we continue our transformation. Gulf and Williams Racing share an illustrious motorsport heritage and together we are making history with this partnership."

Thus, the colors of Gulf, seen recently with McLaren, will appear on the FW45, driver suits, pit gates and on the suits of some key team members managing pit stops. In addition, “high-level” marketing-related initiatives will be launched throughout the 2023 campaign. These “ will embody a shared vision of a modern, bright future for motorsport, both on and off the track »

This new alliance between Williams and Gulf will not be limited to the Formula 1 team only. This partnership will extend to the Williams Racing Driver Academy but also to the virtual structure, Williams Esports. “ This expansion allows Gulf to play a role in contributing to the careers of young pilots and promoting access to the industry for all,” we can read in the press release.

« Gulf has a proud history in motorsport with some of the most iconic and respected teams, and Williams Racing is no exception, points out Mike Jones, general manager of Gulf. Together we share decades of motorsport experience with the aim of bringing Formula 1 and Williams Racing fans closer to the sport they love through our partnership."
