Williams tests its new developments

Rubens Barrichello set the 13th time of the 2nd free practice session in Monaco, finishing 2 behind the time of Fernando Alonso, author of the best time of the day. But the Brazilian specifies that the tests focused on the behavior of the new elements, including a new flat bottom and a new rear wing.

« We now have a lot of information and a whole day to analyze the collected data », assures Rubens Barrichello. “ We also tried the super soft tires and everyone got positive things from them. We should be good in qualifying, but we also want to be good in the race to score points. Having a good race set-up remained the priority during testing. »

Pastor Maldonado, author of the 15th fastest time in the 2nd session at 2??510 from the first time, says he is satisfied with the FW33. “ We did a lot of laps, especially in the afternoon (39 laps for Rubens Barrichello and 49 laps for Pastor Maldonado), and the car seems reliable. I had the new flat bottom and the old rear wing, while (it was the opposite) for Rubens. The flat bottom worked well, but we need to look at Rubens' data to make the right decision in qualifying and the race. »
