Windsor justifies Cosworth

Peter Windsor, team principal of USF1, team which will make its debut in F1 in 2010, does not understand the "scandal" which shook the paddock author of the introduction of Cosworth engines within the new teams. Indeed, the four teams which will make their debut in 2010 (USF1, Campos, Manor, Lotus) will have single-seaters powered by Cosworth engines. This partnership seemed to be a required condition to be chosen among the new teams in the FIA field (More information).

« I don't see this as a scandal at all, attests Peter Windsor. It's very clear, to arrive in Formula 1, you must have an eligible engine contract to be able to apply upon your arrival. It was just one of the many criteria you had to meet. We had a valid engine contract and so we passed this step. I don't understand why everyone is complaining. »

In addition, Peter Windsor recognized that the team was moving forward step by step to continue its development and that everything would be ready for the 2010 season. We have completed most of the design and have started manufacturing. It will be ready for testing when everyone is testing. »
