Wolff: “It’s deliberate or it’s incompetence”

Mercedes did not openly accuse her rival Ferrari, but the words of its executive director Toto wolff are enough to sow doubt in people's minds. The Austrian showed himself to be quite recovered after the clash between Kimi Räikkönen and Lewis Hamilton in the first round of the British GP (video) even if the 2007 world champion admitted being guilty of the incident.

Toto Wolff is all the more upset as this is the second collision that has occurred in the space of three Grands Prix after the collision between Sebastian Vettel et Valtteri Bottas at the French GP.

“It’s a racing incident, but we had already been out at Le Castellet, it’s happening again here, said Toto Wolff on Sky Sports. We are losing a lot of points in the Manufacturers' Championship. as James Allison (the technical director of Mercedes) said F1), do you think this is deliberate or is it incompetence? »

“Our team did a incredible job this weekend with a lot of pressure on their shoulders. They played some interesting tactics on their side, but we will do our best to face them and progress in the next races”, warned the Austrian.

Lewis Hamilton nevertheless managed to salvage a second place behind Sebastian Vettel and remains eight points behind the Championship leader. Mercedes is now 20 units behind Scuderia Ferrari.
