Wolff loads new qualifiers

After the fiasco of the new qualifications at the Australian Grand Prix, the paddock of the F1 thought of returning to the old format in force until the end of 2015. The latter was wrong since the new format will be in place at the Bahrain GP contested on the weekend of April 3, a decision which surprises and seems to disappoint Toto wolff, the executive chairman of Mercedes Motorsport.

“This new format will continue even though her debut in Australia was, to say the least, unimpressive.”, commented the Austrian. “The stables were unanimous on Sunday and their opinion was not favorable. We didn't find the right format with this change and it's hard to imagine how it could be more entertaining for the crowd this weekend in Bahrain. »

Toto Wolff fears that the discord reigning around qualifying is detrimental to the image of F1. “Discipline is being looked at on the issue. A careful approach is required to achieve coordinated and intelligent progress from our current position. Spectators want close racing in order, in an understandable format, between the best drivers and the best cars in the world. We should be able to satisfy them”, regretted the Austrian.
