Wolff: “Ross Brawn only has himself to blame”

Toto wolff was asked to comment Ross Brawn's comments regarding Mercedes' superiority. The former Team Principal of Mercedes F1 from 2010 to 2013 strongly contributed to the rise of the star brand which has dominated the discipline for four seasons.

The new Motor Sports director appointed by Liberty Media paradoxically finds himself very bored by the domination of his former team and had expressed his fears of seeing the Silver Arrows continue to get their hands on the titles in 2018.

“Ross Brawn only has himself to blame for this!” Toto Wolff had fun on ESPN. He laid the first stones of the building in 2012 when the team was in great difficulty. He recruited people like Aldo Costa (head of engineering), we owe them to him. He now has a problem because he finds himself on the other side of the fence having to ensure that more teams can play for victory. »

Toto Wolff nevertheless remains cautious about the potential of his team for next year despite the stability of the regulations which should remain similar until 2021. Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) notably dominated the first part of the season and seemed well on his way to winning a fifth coronation until he collapsed in the second half of the calendar. The pilots Red Bull also showed promising performances with a victory for Daniel Ricciardo and two for Max Verstappen.
