Zak Brown joins McLaren

McLaren announced in the wake of Ron Dennis' departure that a provisional Executive Committee would be appointed to head the Woking firm. It didn't take long for a major new recruitment to be made official.

Zak Brown has a career in motorsport marketing and communications (and worked with McLaren to secure sponsorship deals) and was also tipped to join Liberty Media, the new owners of the F1.

Along with Jonathan Neale, operations director, Brown will lead McLaren “as part of the first stage of the Group's transition to a new and strengthened organizational structure. »

“I have the greatest respect and admiration for what the company has accomplished to date, Brown admits. I look forward to contributing to the next important phase of its development.

Having worked closely with McLaren for many years, I have been struck by the talent and ambition of all the employees and look forward to complementing and building on the company's existing strengths to drive future success. »

McLaren said it was still looking for a new chief executive officer.
