There are duels that have marked history between two teams, two cars, and especially two drivers, but sometimes there are those that even infect the team principals. A game of bluffing ensues, smiles are fake, underhanded tactics abound, and everyone tries to protect their own interests. After having led each other on a merry chase Toto wolff (Mercedes Benz) during the confrontation between Verstappen et Hamilton in 2021, Christian Horner, former main team of Red Bullhad found another target.

While his team faced a new opponent in McLaren, back at the top of the sport, the Briton didn't hesitate to take a few jabs at his American counterpart Zak Brown, CEO of Mclaren racingwho didn't hesitate to respond. A minor rivalry had begun to develop between the two camps, symbolized by these verbal sparring matches between executives. Nothing, however, comparable to the mutual animosity between Christian Horner and Toto Wolff in their heyday. Ten months after his former rival's departure, the McLaren CEO even hopes to see him back in the paddock soon.

“Christian was a great figure in the world of sport,” Brown assures, as quoted by Speedcafe"Sport always needs great personalities. I think it would be fantastic to have Christian back in..." F1He's an excellent leader. His record speaks for itself. I'd prefer to have 10 solid team principals, but that's not going to happen anytime soon. And there's a huge amount of talent constantly emerging. There have been a lot of team principal changes in the last two or three years. But I think it would be fantastic to see him back in F1, and given his passion for the sport and his age, I'd be surprised if he didn't return, whether with Alpine or elsewhere.

For several months now, the rumor has been growing: Christian Horner is reportedly in discussions with Alpine to buy back Otro Capital's 24% stake and become a minority shareholder. But Mercedes and Toto Wolff are also in the running. Will the second act between Horner and Wolff revolve around the future of...enstone ?
