12 p.m. from Bathurst – Lowndes switches to Porsche and joins Bamber and Vanthoor
The Earl Bamber Motorsport (EBM) team will fiercely defend its title at the 12 Bathurst 2020 Hours (Australia). The structure founded by brothers Earl and Will, victorious in the 2019 edition, alignera deux Porsche 911 GT3 R entre le 31 janvier et le 2 février.
In the Pro class, three big names will come together behind the wheel. The famous “Bamthor” couple, composed of Earl Bamber and Laurens Vanthoor, will be joined by the legend Craig Lowndes, double winner of the event in 2014 and 2017.
“EBM is the title holder, it’s motivating to help them, assures the former Supercars driver. Earl and I have been teammates in the past, we get along very well. This will be my first race with a Porsche and the new version of the GT3 R is a missile! »
Laurens Vanthoor, who has been aiming for victory on the Mont Panorama circuit for several years, wants to break the Indian sign in 2020. “Winning here is one of my dreams, and I hope to achieve it this time. »
Finally, the boss-pilot is impatient in more than one way. “It’s great to be reunited with Laurens and I again after the successes in the United States in 2019 (title in Imsa in GTLM. Editor’s note). As for Craig, he is the most successful driver at Bathurst on the entry list, I hope he can bring some magic to this weekend. »
