The injured from the last 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) are recovering at their own pace. A few days after Stéphane Ortelli (Lexus), as well as a Lamborghini Super Trofeo driver and track marshal left the hospital, it's the turn ofAndy Meyrick (Bentley) to leave intensive care at the University Hospital of Liège on Friday morning.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has sent messages wishing me well. It really means a lot. I am so incredibly grateful to the track medical crew and marshals and for the hospital team who have been wonderful the past 6 days. Now to go home! https://t.co/Z3ZlNkr6pM pic.twitter.com/xDD0yvzcG7

The 32-year-old Briton collided with Jurgen Krebs (Lamborghini) at high speed at the top of the Raidillon de l'Eau Rouge during the night from Saturday to Sunday. The race was interrupted for more than an hour, time to evacuate the drivers and the carcasses.
Andy Meyrick details the circumstances of an accident which he describes “inevitable”. “ The Lamborghini had just crossed the track right in my path. The lights (from race direction) on my dashboard always showed the green flag when I arrived in Eau Rouge. At the top of the climb, I didn't have time to take my foot off and unfortunately 170 miles away (around 270 km/h), you can't get away without a huge impact with a stopped car”, explains the Parker Racing driver.
Andy Meyrick plans to return to competition in early September in the GT4 European Series at the Hungaroring (Hungary).
Television cameras did not capture the accident, but an amateur video was shared on the Internet, where it is possible to see the Bentley Continental GT3 on fire. As for Jurgen Krebs, he does not suffer from a serious injury according to Stéphane Ratel Organization (SRO) and is expected to leave the hospital soon.
