24 hours of Spa – Senna and Derani with Garage 59

New scarecrow of the GT Series with two consecutive victories at Paul-Ricard in the Endurance Cup et at the Nürburgring in the Sprint Cup, the Garage 59 stable will show up in force during the next 24 Hours of Spa (July 30-31), fourth round of theEndurance cup 2016.

Alongside the two people McLaren 650S GT3 usually lined up in the series and entrusted to the crews Ledogar – van Gisbergen – Bell (n°58), and Fontana – Moore – Watson (n°59), the armed wing of the British brand will enter a third example which will have strong southern accents -Americans.

The Briton Duncan Tappy, formerly of Bentley, and new resident of Garage 59 in GT Open, will be joined by the auriverde pair Bruno senna, driver of the RGR Sport by Morand in WEC and Mahindra Racing in Formula e and his compatriot Luis Philip Derani, winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring with the Ligier JS P2 of the ESM team in IMSA Sportscar Championship.

“The 24 Hours of Spa has been a key race on the calendar for McLaren GT and our customer teams for the past six years, and with the GT3 650S and our driver line-up for 2016, it is clear that we are targeting the first positions, explains Andrew Kirkaldy, one of the executives of the GT division in Woking.

The race is arguably the most difficult on the GT calendar, both in terms of the competitiveness of the grid, the nature of the track and the conditions. It will be a real test, but both the drivers and the cars are in a position that has never been better. »

The Spa 24 Hours Test Day takes place today in the Ardennes.
