La V #702 of Arnaud and Olivier Gomez distinguished itself last weekend (March 21-23) in the Tuscan rain during the 12 Hours of Mugello, the opening round of the European season of 24H Series organized by Creventic.
On the hilly lands of the Italian circuit, two V entered by the French manufacturer were there: the #701 entrusted to Lionel Amrouche, Cyril Calmon and Philippe Bonnel, and the #702 in the hands of the brotherly duo Gomez.
After two days of free practice and qualifying under a generous sun, the #702 took a superb pole position in the GTX category, confirming the constant progress of the new generation of Vortex V8 introduced in 2024But on Saturday, things got more complicated: unpredictable weather hit the Mugello track, making racing conditions particularly tricky. The 32 cars entered in the various categories had to deal with numerous neutralizations, track exits and disrupted strategies.

Despite this, the two French prototypes demonstrated remarkable reliability and excellent road holding thanks to their meticulous aerodynamics and lightness, allowing the crews to avoid the pitfalls of the wet asphalt. At the finish, the two Vortexes achieved a superb one-two finish in GTX, with the #702 leading the category and, more importantly, in 11th place overall – a very good performance considering the strong field, made up of GT3s, prototypes and other much more powerful GT Cups.
This result confirms the development work undertaken by the small French team, whose artisanal but ambitious philosophy is beginning to bear fruit on the European scene.Endurance.
The rest of the program promises to be just as busy: this weekend (March 28-30), Vortex will return to the track at Castellet for the 4 Hours of theUltimate Cup Series. Then, heading to Belgium in April for the legendary 12 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, another major round of the 24H Series championship.
