26 GT3s for the start of the World Challenge Europe at Brands Hatch

The Sprint version of the Blancpain GT Series will begin in England with 13 cars in the Pro category, 7 in Silver, 5 in Pro-Am and a GT3 in Am.

26 GT3s for the start of the World Challenge Europe at Brands Hatch

The first round of the 2019 season of the Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe (formerly Sprint Cup) will take place on May 4 and 5 on the hilly track of Brands Hatch (Great Britain). For this launch, 26 GT3 are expected, with its share of transfers and newcomers.

 

As announced in issue 2213 ofCARhebdo, available in digital version and on kiosks, Stéphane Ortelli will make a notable return to the Saintéloc team. The Monegasque, absent for theEndurance Cup in Monza (Italy), will be teamed up with Frenchman Nyls Stievenart in an Audi R8 LMS. 

The Saint-Etienne team will also have in its ranks the tricolors Simon Gachet and Steven Palette. Faithful to their Mercedes-AMG GT3, the Akka-ASP structure will be present in force with four crews: Abril-Marciello in Pro, Bastian-Neubauer and Bogulavskiy-Schiller in Silver, and Beaubelique-Pla in Pro-Am. 

Akka-ASP will be responsible for scoring points for the overall World Challenge rankings through Raffaele Marciello, Thomas Neubauer and Jean-Luc Beaubelique. 

Andrea Bertolini and Louis Machiels will be able to score points at the World Challenge on behalf of Ferrari, just like David Perel and Rinat Salikhov. At Lamborghini, three examples will be hatched by the Orange 1 FFF Racing Team, including a Huracan GT3 for Mirko Bortolotti and Christian Engelhart, who distinguished himself last fall with an unusual exclusion. 

the new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 will make its debut in the discipline with the R-Motorsport. Ricky Collard is likely to be widely supported by the British public; the Englishman will be associated with Marvin Kirchöfer, while the other Aston will be led by Aario Vainio and the Swiss Hugo de Sadeleer.
