AKKA-ASP dominate Hungaroring qualifying

The fourth round of the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup season seems to be the affair of Mercedes. After the best times of Raffaele Marciello and Nicolas Jamin and on Friday, AKKA-ASP dominated qualifying on Saturday morning at the Hungaroring (Hungary), near Budapest.

During Q1, the German Nico Bastian turned the fastest of all despite his inexperience of the track. Indeed, the driver entered in the Silver Cup is only in his first year of competition in the series managed by SRO. This best time allows him to start in pole position for Race 1, the start of which is scheduled for Saturday at 14:45 p.m.

A few minutes later, another Mercedes-AMG GT3 took over, that of Raffaele marciello. The Italian lapped more than two tenths faster than everyone else in Q2, and is ahead of another German car, that of Luca Stolz's Black Falcon (exceptionally present this weekend).

Among this ease displayed by the Mercedes, we will note the good performance of the Ferrari 488 GT3 entered in the Kessel Racing Pro-Am, fourth in Q2. In both sessions, the best Audi was led by Christopher Mies and Alex Ribeiras (WRT) third then fifth. The Lamborghini Huracan of Christian Engelhart and Mirko Bortolotti (GRT) was also consistent thanks to the fifth and third fastest times.

The first part of the session was marked by the accident of the Lexus RC F of Norbert Siedler, victim of a left rear puncture and sent into the safety rail. The Emil Frey Racing car did not record a time and will start from last place in both races, assuming the damage is repaired in time.
