Alon Day on a good day at Hockenheim

Alon Day (Chevrolet SS) recovered well after his mistake on Saturday by winning the second race of the weekend of the Nascar Whelen Euro Series in Hockenheim (Germany). The Caal Racing resident managed to gain the advantage over Loris Hezemans (Ford), for the first time winner yesterday, and signed his 5th victory of the season and the 15th of his career.

“I was a little bitter after my big mistake on Saturday. I feel sorry for the team because it had a big impact on the championship, admitted the Israeli. I won't make the same mistake twice. I knew it was going to be difficult today and I'm a little tired of winning races while having to defend myself against my opponents. But I knew Loris had a good car. Our duel was fair and clean. I hope to win the two races in Zolder (Belgium) as I did the first time I went there. »

The final organized on the Belgian circuit on October 20 and 21 promises suspense since the first four drivers in the championship are grouped into 12 points. Frédéric Gabillon (Toyota) fell to 3rd position in the Drivers' standings after an accident with Salvador Tineo Arroyo (Toyota). This contact allows Lucas Lasserre (Chevrolet SS), 3rd in the race behind Loris Hezemans after starting from 7th position, to take control of the championship.

“It’s a solid result, confirmed the resident of Mavi Mishumotors. We encountered quite a few technical problems this weekend, but we managed to finish on the podium each time. This proved very effective for the championship. »
