Alon Day opens his 2020 counter in Zolder

Alon Day scored his first victory of the year in the Nascar Whelen Euro Series in 2020, and at the same time took control of the general classification after the Zolder meeting.

Alon Day opens his 2020 counter in Zolder

50%. This is the win ratio ofAlon Day (Chevrolet Camaro n°24 – PK Carsport) on the Zolder route in Belgium. The double champion Nascar Whelen Euro Series 2017 and 2018 hit hard yesterday on the other side of the border, bagging its first success in 2020, and at the same time taking the advantage in the championship.

The Israeli took the lead of the race against his teammate Stienes Longin before controlling the end of the race and winning in the end ahead of Gianmarco Ercoli (Chevrolet Camaro n°54 – CAAL Racing), who also came to take the best on Longinus.

The latter finally failed in 4th position behind Marc Goossens (Ford Mustang n°98 – CAAL Racing). Loris Hezemans (No. 50 Ford Mustang – Hendrik Motorsports) completes the top 5 of this second Belgian round.

Jacques Villeneuve (Feed Vict Racing) was unable to see the checkered flag, after contact at the start of the race, and a car unable to get past the seventh lap.
