Antonello Coletta (Ferrari): “A real interest in the 488 GT3 2020”

You presented the Evo version of the 488 GT3 for 2020. Was it a necessity?

We worked on the aero, especially changing the rear part with a reworked air channel. We also changed the weight distribution. The car is lighter, which would allow teams to better distribute ballast depending on the circuits.

Is this Evo attracting the interest of new teams?

Many existing customer teams are expected to mount the kit on their current 488s, or purchase new chassis. There is real interest in this 2020 version. It will be very competitive.

Will we still have Ferrari in Pro, in GT World Challenge Europe, notably with SMP Racing?

At present, we have no visibility for the SMP Racing car (operated by AF Corse. Editor's note). The interest exists, but nothing is finalized. I hope I can count on this car, because the title Endurance Cup in 2019 was lost by one point and it's unfortunate. But the others (FFF Racing. Editor’s note) were better.

Will you be entered in GT World Challenge Global again?

Customer competition is Ferrari's DNA. So it’s normal to be committed. The difference with other brands is that the cars are managed by customer teams. And there are races where, without factory support, it is very hard to compete in Pro. These are differences in strategies.

Is it possible to see a GT2 version?

We don't really have a car, apart from the Challenge, although a little different.
