With the red flag waved at the Nürburgring after half an hour of the scheduled four-hour race, the Nürburgring Qualifiers, the qualifying race for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, was logically abandoned. Juha Miettinen, 66, a regular at the Nürburgring, was involved in a pile-up involving no fewer than seven cars.
While emergency services quickly intervened to assist the drivers injured in the accident, Miettinen lost his life, as announced by the organizers of the event, which was part of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Series.
The organizers also indicated that none of the six other drivers involved in the accident suffered life-threatening injuries. A minute's silence will be observed in tribute to Juha Miettinen during the grid formation for the second race of the weekend on Sunday. The entire AUTOhebdo team extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Juha Miettinen.

What a disaster! Mr. Verstappen doesn't want to do rallying because it's too dangerous??
