Alpine ELF Cup Series: 2025 with a high-level line-up

With notable moves from its former drivers to GT4 and prototype competitions, theAlpine ELF Cup Series is preparing to write a new chapter, with a highly anticipated 2025 season.

The suspense is set to be total for the opening of the season, especially in the highly contested Pro category. Finalist last year, Léo Jousset (Race Cars Consulting), author of six victories in the discipline, will start among the big favorites. He will notably meet a certain Laurent Hurgon (Schumacher CLRT), which is making its return after having shone in GT4 France and in GT4 European Series with the A110 GT4.

Having become Forestier Racing by VPS during the winter, the team, crowned in 2024 with Charles Roussanne, is back more ambitious than ever. It will notably line up Roee Meyuhas, former GT4 champion, and Louis Rousset, crowned in Mitjet France in 2021. As for Herrero Racing, it is placing its hopes in Victor Weyrich, crowned French Champion FFSAGT Silver in 2024, to win a first overall title.

The Juniors in ambush

Young talents under 23 years of age are planning to play the spoilsport. Tom Verdier (Chazel Technology Course), already noticed at Spa and in GT4, is one of the rising stars. He will join Enzo Carvalhido (Sport Auto Racing) on the grid, who is also determined to aim for the front positions.

Among the new faces will be Lazare Lartigau (Forestier Racing by VPS) and Mathias Cazaux (Race Cars Consulting), both promising after their performances in Mitjet. Louka Desgranges (Chazel Technologie Course), meanwhile, will be aiming for an immediate impact after resounding victories in the Ultimate Cup Series and Alpine Endurance Cup

Challengers Category: Open Opposition

Launched in 2023, the Challengers class (drivers aged 23 to 44 without major track records) promises to be a formidable competition. Defending champion Thibaut Bossy (Herrero Racing) will have to be wary of strong opposition, notably from Chazel.

Ivan Ovsienko, performing in karting and in touring car competitions, will make his debut after a podium finish at the 6 Hours of Abu Dhabi. Dutch simracer Johan Akkerman, Trak Racer ambassador for Alpine Sim Racing will take the step towards real racing with the ambition of transforming the test.

Gentlemen Drivers: a new leader to be appointed

With Frédéric de Brabant's departure to the Endurance Cup, the Gentlemen category (aged 45 and over) will have to find a new leader. Double champion in 2022 and 2023, Anthony Fournier (Race Cars Consulting) will start as the favorite. But watch out for Alain Jacono (Chazel) and Franc Rouxel (Herrero), loyalists from the very beginning.

Paul Paranthoën (Code Racing Development) returns after a shortened season, while David Barrere (Herrero Racing), who made a promising debut in 2024, will try to confirm his form.

A tight schedule, concrete challenges

The 2025 season will begin this week at Nogaro, before continuing to Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort, Magny-Cours, and then Mugello, a first for the series. The final will be held on the legendary Paul Ricard Circuit.

The races, now extended to 30 minutes + 1 lap, will be accompanied by attractive prize money at each round. The overall winner will receive a €50 purse to advance to the GT000 category with Alpine.
