As expected, there will be new things at Mercedes Benz In 2027. The three-pointed star brand unveiled its two new models this Tuesday, March 24th: the GT3 and the Black Series. Both iterations are derived from the AMG GT Track Sport concept, revealed in 2025. This concept serves as the technological platform for the new models.

The GT3 model, designed for racing, and the Black Series version, intended for road use, have been undergoing testing since last year and were first tested on the Immendingen internal circuit, then at Bilster Berg, Portimão, and Monteblanco. The next round of testing is now taking place at the Nürburgring. "We are developing the most extreme Black Series ever produced.", announces Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. “At the same time, we want to set the next motorsport record with the future GT3. The AMG GT Track Sport Concept is the foundation for this – a technology demonstrator that was much more than just a concept from the outset. It represents our unequivocal commitment to maximum performance, a promise for both the track and the road. At AMG, we develop vehicles to exceed expectations. And that is exactly what the future Black Series and the new GT3 will do.”

Mercedes is also updating its color scheme: the Mercedes-AMG GT3 is now red, while the Black Series version will be yellow-green. The GT3 version is also part of the ongoing Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing program, launched in 2010. The first GT produced was the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, which enjoyed success in the hands of customer teams, notably winning the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in 2014 with the Black Falcon team. This model was followed by the Mercedes-AMG GT3 in 2016 and then its Evo version in 2020. Now, to produce the new AMG GT3, Mercedes has launched a wholly-owned subsidiary: Affalterbach Racing GmbH. “Our goal is to present a benchmark vehicle once again. The initial tests have already provided us with important lessons.” explains Christoph Sagemüller, head of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport. "We are now entering the next phase of development, with testing on circuits relevant to GT racing."

Mercedes also stated that further information on the two models will be released at a later date.
