In 2024, Nissan's commitments to motorsport will focus on three areas: Formula E, the Super GT and the Grand Touring. If the season of the electric discipline has already started at the beginning of January, it is different for the other two universes, which were the subject of a more detailed presentation from the Japanese manufacturer this Thursday, February 15.

In Super GT, the Z GT500 will benefit from a facelifted front end in accordance with the production version of the coupe. Also in the Japanese championship, a GT300 version of the Z will be introduced.

“Nissan has always worked hand in hand with motorsport. Just three years after its founding, Nissan entered motorsport and, over the next 87 years, competed in various categories, honing its skills and technologies. This year, Nismo celebrates its 40th anniversary », said Takao Katagiri, director of Nissan Motor's sports business unit and CEO of NMC.

“To contribute to the advent of a carbon neutral society, Nissan also promotes electrification in motor sports and has participated in the FIA ​​Formula E World Championship since 2018. In the Super GT and GT4 categories, Nissan will develop and will supply racing cars based on the Nissan Z Nismo. Companies aim to build cars and engage in motorsport with more passion than ever before, to generate even more excitement among fans around the world. »

Four official Nissans will be entered in GT500: the #3 NISMO NDDP with Mitsunori Takaboshi and Atsushi Miyake, the #12 from Team Impui with Kazuki Hiramine and Bertrand Baguette, the #23 NISMO with Katsumasa Chiyo and Ronnie Quintarelli and the Kondo Racing n°24 with Tsugio Matsuda and Teppei Natori.

In GT300, four customer Nissans will also be there with the Kondo Racing #56 of Daiki Sasaki and Joao Paulo de Oliveira, the Helm Motorsports #62 with Kohei Hirate, Yuya Hiraki and Reiji Hiraki, the Nilzz Racing #48 with Taiyou Ida and another unnamed driver as well as Runup Sports n°360 whose drivers are not yet known.
