We thought it was stainless, but the Nissan GT-R is going to retire. At least, its GT500 version in Super GT. If the production model and its GT3 version will continue to be produced and supported by the Japanese manufacturer, this will no longer be the case for one of the flagship cars of the Japanese championship.
After 14 seasons, 113 races and a record 41 victories, the Nissan GT-R based GT500 Racer will compete for the last time in the Super GT Series, at the final round on November 28th.
The successor to the GT-R GT500 will be announced soon.

Indeed, the GT-R GT500 will be replaced in 2022, putting an end to 14 seasons of presence, 113 races and a record of 41 successes. No other car has done better in the history of Super GT!
On board, five Drivers' titles have been awarded, notably for the Frenchman Benoît Tréluyer in 2008 (with Satoshi Motoyama), in his first year on the circuits:
However, the driver who best symbolizes this period is the Italian Ronnie Quintarelli. Exiled to Japan after a few seasons in promotion formulas in Europe, the Veronese beat the specialists four times (2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015).
