Chaz Mostert strong winner in C1 at Taupo

The Australian Supercars drivers put on an incredible show for the first round of the weekend at the Taupo circuit in New Zealand. Chaz Mostert claimed a prestigious victory after battling and elbowing Brodie Kostecki (Ford Mustang- DJR) for many laps. 2025 looks different from 2024 with the Ford Mustang dominating, while the Chevrolet Camaros are no longer as much in the spotlight. Will Brown (Chevrolet Camaro- Triple Eight Engineering) had to settle for a distant 7th place, but he nevertheless retained the championship lead. 

In the race standings, Will Davison (Ford Mustang- DJR) edged out Kostecki in the closing laps of the race. It's a Ford Mustang hat-trick on the podium in the ninth round of the season. There's still one race left in Supercars on the beautiful Taupo circuit.
