Will Brown took an incredible victory to conclude the Australian Super Touring Car Championship season. Spinned by Brodie Kostecki (Erebus Motorsport) after only 9 laps of racing, the Triple Eight Engineering driver won the race after 78 laps despite restarting 20th after his collision! As usual (when he is in difficulty) and thanks to his team of engineers and mechanics, Will Brown managed to come back from hell. By winning this round, Brown took his 5th victory of the season and climbed onto his 19th podium of the 2024 season! He managed to get a podium at each of the meetings of the year. This is the most singular performance in 40 years in Supercars. Even the legend Shane van Gisbergen has never managed to score this kind of result in a season. Will Brown has left his mark on the year 2024.

A completely crazy race

There were plenty of on-track events that helped explain Brown's incredible comeback to the front. Chaz Mostert (Walkinshaw Andretti United) managed to get the better of Broc Feeney (Triple Eight Engineering) at the start of the race. The Mustang driver was determined to make up for his disappointing end to the season. He had been sidelined from the title race during the previous meeting on the streets of Surfers Paradise. Mozy led the race under constant threat from Feeney. As on the previous day, pit stops played a decisive role in the final standings of the race.

The key moment of this 24th round came on the 50th lap when Feeney and Mostert came into contact at the exit of the pits. Feeney having been released in a singular manner by his team, he was penalized 15 seconds by the race direction. At this point in the race, Brown was still in 4th place. With 13 laps to go, Feeney was unable to avoid contact with Mostert, who he sent into the tire wall. The Mustang No. 25 nevertheless managed to get back on track but, heavily damaged, Mostert was unable to contain Brown, who had returned to the front. The champion still had to catch up with his teammate, but he was given a new 15-second penalty for having taken Mostert off the track (Feeney finished the race in 7th place). Will Brown was therefore on a royal road to winning another victory this season... from the back of the grid.

This victory by Brown once again underlines the domination of his Triple Eight Engineering team, which the young man will not forget to congratulate at the end of the Adelaide 500, which he won brilliantly: "How can I tell you that winning this race is really unexpected for me. When I left I really thought it was the end of the day for us. I left wanting to have fun and enjoy myself to end the year. What a victory, it's the best way to celebrate the championship title." Will Brown wins ahead of Mostert and Randle. In the championship standings, Brown is ahead of his teammate Broc Feeney and Chaz Mostert, who rises from the ashes in 2024. The 2025 season, with the transfer window at the end of the year, promises to be sumptuous.
