Beltoise presents the electric GT BT01

The electric GT Made in France is here! This Thursday, March 18, Julien Beltoise presented the very first creation of his company, Beltoise eTechnology: the BT01.

Produced at the Haute-Saintonge mechanical center (Charente-Maritime) and designed by Spark Racing Technology, the car is intended to be a real GT. With a look oscillating between a Mitjet and a Aston Martin GT3, it develops a power of 290 kW, the equivalent of 394 horsepower, allowing it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds for a top speed of over 210 km/h. On the scale she weighs 1.200 kilos.

« We surrounded ourselves with the greatest specialists in the field of 100% electric Motorsport, in this case the French company Spark Racing Technology which allowed us to transform our concept and our specifications into reality », explains Julien Beltoise when discussing the design of the vehicle.

But don't expect to see it on national roads. The BT01 will be intended for circuit use only. “ Today, the prototype is functional and has already been tested by Anthony Beltoise, but it continues to be developed. The objective is to produce seven examples starting next summer which will allow piloting courses to begin in 2022. ».

These courses will constitute one of the uses of the car for sessions of 10 to 12 minutes followed by recharge times. All this over 3 hour days of driving.

« After the first steps of the first seven examples, we will produce a second version which will meet the FIA standards, necessary for homologation in competition. », Announce the creators.

Indeed, the BT01 will also be intended for competition from 2023, through the creation of one-make series in support of the main thermal and electrical championships in France and internationally. The car will be able to run in 25-minute races.

« The BT01 meets the current needs of our sport, concluded Julien Beltoise. It requires funding and sponsors which are becoming increasingly rare today, largely due to CO2 emissions. With an affordable car (around 150 euros for a car in driving training version) to zero emissions, we will attract new interest from sponsors and reform the economic chain of our sport ».
