Stability will not have been the watchword for the crews Bentley Team M-Sport in 2019. Whether on the GT World Challenge Europe stage in Endurance Cup or Intercontinental GT Challenge, the Crewe brand has modified its lines on numerous occasions, notably with four crews entered in the last 24 Hours of Spa.
For the final of theIGTC at Kyalami (November 22-23), the two Continental GT3s will be entrusted to the trio Maxime Soulet – Jules Gounon – Jordan Pepper on No. 107, the Belgian replacing Steven Kane, on his side on the No. 108 with Andy Soucek and Rodrigo Baptista, regular resident of K-Pax Racing in GT World Challenge America in 2019.
“Even though this will be my first visit to Kyalami, I am confident, says Baptista. I work in the simulator and watch on-board cameras. We are in a unique position because we can work with Jordan Pepper, one of the few drivers who has already experienced the circuit.
Coming from a customer team like K-PAX Racing is a big help, because I already have knowledge of the car and especially how it handles. We won races and finished in the top 5 every weekend in the United States. So I am confident that we can keep this momentum going at Kyalami for the factory team. »
Bentley has little left to hope for in the Manufacturers' standings at the end of the nine-hour event, with only 22 points on the clock.
