Blancpain – Alexander Sims joins Hexis Racing

Hexis Racing will continue competition in Blancpain Endurance Series in 2013 after a season punctuated by an overall victory at the final event in Navarra. After confirming its commitment to the French GT FFSA Championship, Philippe Dumas' team has renewed the confidence it had in Alvaro Parente and Stef Dusseldorp. “We work with McLaren for a year, almost to the day”, comments the team's Team Manager. “I would like to thank McLaren GT Director Andrew Kirkaldy because I only see positives and the results demonstrate the excellence of our collaboration. We are taking on a new challenge together, following on from a clear victory in Navarra in mid-October during the finale of the Blancpain Endurance Series. We no longer present Alvaro Parente and Stef Dusseldorp, great guys, incredible drivers, ice and fire! »

For 2013, Alexander Sims will join the Portuguese and Dutchman for the full season, while a second McLaren MP4-12C is expected to be entered in the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The Briton distinguished himself in car in endurance driving the Status GP Lola B12/80-Judd. “I have heard a lot about Hexis since I started working with McLaren GT a year ago”, adds the Londoner. “It’s a huge chance to be able to run with them. I don't have a lot of experience in GT but I understand endurance, I raced in sport-proto at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I am sure that everything will go well and that we will be able to play for the title. I would like to thank McLaren and Hexis for offering me this opportunity to join a top team in a top level series. »
