Blancpain – Beautiful people at the 24 Hours of Spa

70 GT3s launched at full speed down the Ardennes slide for an entire day. This is the enticing program proposed by the 2013 edition of the 24 Hours of Spa, which will take place from July 24 to 28. With points distributed after 6, 12 and 24 hours of racing, the Belgian event is the most important meeting of the year for Blancpain. Endurance Series: whoever stands out will be able to stand out in the championship.

The 65th edition of the 24 Hours of Spa will also stand out for the quality of the field entered. In addition to the fact that the most beautiful GTs in the world will be represented (Ferrari, Porsche, Audi, Aston Martin, McLaren, Lamborghini, BMW, Nissan, Mercedes), choice drivers will join the ranks of the teams entered for the entire season. So, the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT will be supplemented by three official Audi drivers, Marcel Fässler and André Lotterer, who race in Endurance, and Matthias Ekström, double champion DTM. Among the French teams in the Pro-Cup, we will particularly have to watch Hexis, who is entering the No. 4 McLaren MP12-7C driven by Alexander Sims, Stef Dusseldorp and Alvaro Parente and who has made this race the priority of his season. With Antoine Leclec, Mike Parisy and Andy Soucek, the No. 11 McLaren of the Art Grand Prix will also be scrutinized.

“Growing in terms of quality and quantity to produce what will undoubtedly be the best 24 Hours of Spa in history, the 2013 edition is already shaping up to be a classic”, enthuses Stéphane Ratel, director of SRO, the promoter of the Blancpain Endurance Series (BES). “The field for this 65th edition is a fair reflection of the progress made by the BES, which has delivered three extraordinary races so far this season, won by three different brands: Ferrari, Aston Martin and BMW. The expansion of the PRO-Cup category has seen the arrival of several factory drivers spread across several top teams which will create epic battles at the front. It is these battles that have made the Blancpain Endurance Series the strongest GT series in the world.”
