Blancpain Endurance – Suspenseful finale at the Nürburgring

The Blancpain Endurance TV Shows 2015 edition will come to an end this weekend, with the final meeting contested on the German Nürburgring track. After the summit of the 24 Hours of Spa, which saw the long-awaited triumph for Team Marc VDS and its BMW Z4 GT3, the championship regulars will compete for the titles, particularly in the Pro Cup.

Stéphane Ortelli and Frank Stippler, lined up alongside Stéphane Richelmi in the No. 8 Audi R2 LMS ultra of Team WRT, are in a favorable position to win the crown. But their lead over their main rivals, Stef Dusseldorp and Nico Bastian (ROWE Racing) only peaks at eight points.

Nissan, with the Chiyo-Reip-Buncombe trio, is also in ambush, after their victory at Paul Ricard. The situation will be significantly more uncertain for Laurens Vanthoor. The reigning champion, associated this season with Jean-Karl Vernay and Robin Frijns in the No. 8 Audi R1 LMS ultra of Team WRT, is twenty points behind the leaders. If the Sprint Series title is within his reach, the pass of two in the Endurance Series seems very complicated for the Belgian driver.

If in Pro Am, the title has already fallen into the hands of Matt Griffin and Duncan Cameron, the Am Cup category also remains very open, five points separating leaders Ian Loggie and Julian Westwood (Team Parker Racing) from the trio Fabio Mancini, Andrey Birzhin and Rino Mastronardi (Glorax Racing)
