Tristan Vautier successfully exiled himself to the United States with a 2012 Indy Lights championship title and a rookie of the year title in IndyCar in 2013. This season, the 24-year-old driver competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona with Mazda, and will participate in the development of the new car of Indy Lights IL-15. In the middle of this program, the Tricolore will make a return to Europe as part of Blancpain Endurance Series for the Spa 24 Hours race (July 23-27). It is within Jérôme Policand's stable, Team Sofrev-ASP that Vautier will evolve alongside Fabien Barthez, Eric Debard and Ludovic Badey, on a Ferrari 458 Italia in the Pro-Am category. “We are very happy to have Tristan back after a first positive experience in 2012 which resulted in a Top 10 in the general classification. I hope that his experience acquired in IndyCar and TUSCC this year at Mazda, combined with his speed, will allow us to fight for the podium in the category. » explains the team’s Team Manager.
“It is a great pleasure to participate again in this legendary race with Jérôme’s team. With Fabien, Eric and Ludo, we form a great team both on a sporting and human level. Spa is a very rewarding race as a driver, especially due to the difficult and changing conditions, traffic management? It’s a great addition to my American program. I can't wait to be in the Ardennes and I would like to thank the team and my teammates for their trust. » says Tristan Vautier.
The first runs of the 30 Pro-Am cars and the entire field of the 24 Hours of Spa will take place on July 24.
