Blancpain – Hexis and McLaren at the head of pre-qualifying

After narrowly missing out on the FIA GT1 World title, Hexis Racing dreams of finishing the Blancpain season Endurance Series in Navarra on a good note. In any case, this is the message that the performance of the McLaren MP4-12C from Parente-Dusseldorp-Makowiecki in pre-qualifying with a time of 1'37"619, the Dutchman and the Frenchman having already won on this track this year in FIA GT1. The Woking cars seem at ease on the Spanish track since the #9 Gulf Racing UK driven by Wainwright-Bell is closest to the session's benchmark time, failing by six tenths.

Team WRT wasted no time in placing itself at the forefront, with the Belgian team playing for the Drivers and Teams titles this weekend against Marc VDS Racing. The No. 8 R1 LMS ultra of Haase-Ortelli-Mies finished third, just seven thousandths behind the British team's McLaren, while the No. 6 of Stippler-Jarvis-Albuquerque finished sixth. Vita4One Racing places the first BMW Z4 in fourth position with the No. 66 of Franchi-Lauda-Kechele ahead of the Ferrari 458 Italia AF Corse by Gerber-Cioci.

The Marc VDS Racing BMW Z4s are currently further behind. The No. 4 of Longin-Moser-Catsburg finished in ninth position while the No. 3 of Leinders-Palttala-Martin finished 14th in the session, more than a second behind the best time. Qualifying will not take place until tomorrow shortly before the race, but Marc VDS Racing will have to perform strongly since the Championship leaders only have a three-point lead over the crew of the n°1 of Team WRT who entered an additional car to optimize its chances of winning the Teams Championship.
