Blancpain / Navarra – Hexis on mission for McLaren

The 2012 season of the FIA GT1 world championship has just ended with a weekend outrageously dominated by Hexis Racing and its pair Frédéric Makowiecki-Stef Dusseldorp. The Frenchman and the Dutchman finished with the record for the number of victories gleaned (three in the Championship race and as many in the qualifying race). If everything was fragile at the start, with a McLaren MP4-12C sorely lacking in development, the Nîmes team and the Woking firm worked hand in hand to bring the beauty to the level of its rivals, and even go above and beyond.

The pooling of the forces of these two entities was very effective. So much so that the English asked Philippe Dumas and his men to wait a little longer before resting, sending them next week to Navarra, Spain, to compete in the final round of the Blancpain Endurance Series. “We will be on a mission for McLaren, to prove that an MP4-12C can work well in this very tough championship, explains Philippe Dumas. We have therefore planned tests with Michelin tires, and we are going to resume refueling training! » It is true that the teams owning the British coupe are struggling to stand out in this currently very popular championship.

The car will be entrusted for the occasion to Frédéric Makowiecki, Stef Dusseldorp and Alvaro Parente. A shock trio sure to be a candidate for victory. Everyone remembers the insolent domination exercised by the Hexis-McLaren duo at the end of May, during the Spanish round of the FIA GT1 world championship on this same circuit. The first two named had in fact won victory in both races. This is a great opportunity to end a season that will remain memorable whatever happens for all members of the team.
