Hexis Racing announced the arrival of Alexander Sims to support Alvaro Parente and Stef Dusseldorp during the next Blancpain season Endurance Series. If the 24-year-old Briton distinguished himself in car, he also discovered the world of endurance racing last year at the wheel of the Lola B12/80-Judd. If his experience remains limited in GT, the Londoner still had time to discover the McLaren MP4-12C with which he will defend the colors of the Nîmes team. “I've done some testing and development work on the factory MP4-12C and I love driving that car. I know Alvaro (Parente, who will defend the colors of Sébastien) quite well Loeb Racing in the FIA GT Series) and I think we will make a great team. I also heard good things about Stef Dusseldorp”, comments the new Hexis recruit on the Blancpain Endurance Series website.
Alexander Sims will have to adapt to the specificities of the discipline but the Briton remains confident in his abilities. “I don't have a lot of experience with a lot of different tires but we already have a lot of data from Pirelli,” adds the Hexis Racing driver. “I first drove the car during a 24-hour test session in Jérez last year. The McLaren will be very competitive on all types of tires and I don't expect any problems. I think we will be very strong from the first event in Monza. Hexis has a test scheduled for February but I might do some testing for the factory before then. »
