Blancpain Sprint – Enzo Ide holds off Rob Bell at the Nürburgring

The McLaren 650S GT3 seemed the strongest on track at the Nürburgring since this morning with a double in qualifying (weighted by a penalty received by Côme Ledogar), but in the end, Audi and Team WRT once again imposed their law on the qualifying race of the meeting you German.

If Alvaro Parente dominated the start of the event against Christopher Mies (Audi R8 LMS no. 33) until the change of drivers, it was at this moment that Vincent Vosse's team again achieved feats. Enzo Ide, Mies' teammate, took the lead thanks to the work of the Belgian mechanics.

Ide then resisted the pressure exerted by Rob Bell until the end, containing the Briton until the checkered flag and signing another success for the championship leaders. Will Stevens and René Rast (Audi R8 LMS – Team WRT) complete the podium, while Marlon Stockinger and Franck Perera (Audi R8 LMS – ISR Racing), followed by Dries Vanthoor and Nico Müller (Audi R8 LMS – Team WRT) climb in the top 5.

Less success, however, for one of the favorite crews Laurens Vanthoor – Frédéric Vervisch (Audi R8 LMS – Team WRT). The first city was caught in the melee of the first corner and pushed into a spin, thus losing precious time. Côme Ledogar and Martin Plowman (McLaren 650S GT3 – Garage 59) were forced to retire.

In Pro-Am, victory went to the Ferrari 488 n°11 from Kessel Racing of Broniszewski – Piccini, while in the Am Cup, Stéphane Lémeret and Claudio Sdanewitsch imposed their Ferrari 458 Italia from AF Corse.

The main race will start tomorrow at 14:45 p.m.
