BMW accepts defeat

BMW had the opportunity, several times during the season, to take control of the WTCC. But the German team, where the individual card is more readily played, has closed ranks less than in the opposing camp. The BMW drivers sometimes even scuttled themselves, as at the start of the first race in Brno (see elsewhere). In Macau, the miracle did not happen and Seat won the drivers' and manufacturers' titles. If Augusto Farfus fell significantly behind in the drivers' standings before the two races, BMW could still do well in the manufacturers' standings. But it was ultimately Gabriele Tarquini and Seat who received the honors at the end of the season.
