End of an era at Bentley Motorsport with the confirmed departure of Brian Gush, who will be replaced as director by Paul Williams from August 1.

Brian Gush soon to be replaced by Paul Williams at Bentley Motorsport

Under his era, Bentley motorsport has returned to the highest peaks of motorsport, notably with success in 2003 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Brian Gush will end July at the end of 20 years of commitment to the Crewe brand, first as head of chassis, powertrain and motorsport, then as director of Bentley Motorsport.

Under his leadership, the British firm then turned to GT more recently, via the GT3 category and the launch of the Continental meeting the regulations widely promoted by SRO Motorsports in 2013.

A la clé, le titre Teams pour le Bentley Team M-Sport en Endurance Cup in 2017. Brian Gush will retire in favor of Paul Williams, currently responsible for powertrains and who joined the brand in 2008.

“My time at Bentley was the pinnacle of my career, confesses Gush. Bentley allowed me to deliver a car to Her Majesty the Queen while winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is the only brand in the world that can combine these two challenges.

I will always have fond memories of the teams I worked with and the success we shared. I wish Paul good luck. He will undoubtedly take Bentley Motorsport to the next level. »

The next level could be reached again in the Brian Gush era for Bentley, with a potential first success at the 24 Hours of Spa (July 27-28), which Bentley is still seeking to win in the Blancpain GT Series.
