BSS – Laurens Vanthoor forfeits Zandvoort

Laurens Vanthoor confirmed on his Twitter account that he will be withdrawn from the final of the Blancpain Sprint and GT Series in Zandvoort (Netherlands) on October 10 and 11. The Team WRT driver was diagnosed with a broken leg and a double hip fracture, injuries much more serious than those initially revealed. 

“It is extremely difficult to accept that I am going to lose the two titles that were within my reach in the Blancpain GT Series”, admitted the reigning Blancpain GT Series champion.

Team WRT having confirmed the presence of its teammate Robin Frijns at the Dutch round, Laurens Vanthoor's hopes of coronation are almost non-existent since they only have an eight-point lead over Team HTP tandem Maximilian Buhk? Vincent Abril entered in a Bentley (27 units ahead of Maximilian Buhk in Blancpain GT Series). The slightest point won by his teammate will also be eliminatory in the title race.
