Busch wins, Keselowski flies away

Although Kurt Busch led the race for many laps, he almost did not win. In the lead after 320 laps of the Georgian circuit, the Penske driver was leading the proceedings well, ahead of Juan Pablo Montoya, but, three laps from the finish, a new episode of clashes between Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski almost cost him victory. Edwards and Keselowski, who had already clashed earlier in the race, forced the neutralization after 322 laps, when Edwards touched Keselowski, the No. 12 Dodge flying away and landing on its roof.

The passage to the pits after the yellow flag waved allowed Clint Bowyer to take the lead again and look forward to his first victory of the season. He leaves ahead of Paul Menard, Jamie McMurray, Kurt Busch and Juan Pablo Montoya. But Kurt Busch, determined to win, quickly returned to the lead before a major accident involved several of the leading drivers, notably Clint Bowyer, Jamie McMurray, Kyle Busch, and Mark Martin.

The yellow flag is therefore waved again but few cars pit, Kurt Busch keeps the race lead and, at the restart, can fly to his first victory of the season, a year after his success on the same Georgian ring . Juan Pablo Montoya, author of a bad restart, is overtaken by Matt Kenseth but manages to keep his third place ahead of Kasey Kahne and Paul Menard.
