The Honda Civic Type-Rs are happy on Paul-Ricard (Var). The day after Daniel Lloyd's victory in TCR Europe, it was Mike Halder's turn to take the model built by Italian preparer JAS Motorsport to the top step of the podium.
The German driver, who slammed the door of the TCR Germany the previous week against a backdrop of zealous exclusion (fire extinguisher deactivated in the parc ferme), made good use of his pole position following the reverse grid principle.
He was never worried, and took advantage of the penalty for passing through the pits for a stolen start from Sami Taoufik (Audi, 2nd on the grid) to take a sufficient lead. Honda even achieves the double with the presence of Nestor Girolami in second row.
Teddy Clairet (Peugeot ) completes the podium, not without having used all his defense techniques against the peloton. The little brother of the Clairet family thus makes up for the poor performance of his elder Jimmy, 23rd after a mechanical problem in the formation lap.
In the championship, Daniel Lloyd is leader with a small point lead over Mehdi Bennani (Audi, 5th). Teddy Clairet is 4th with seven points behind; John Filippi has 11 disbursement points (5th).
