CMR engaged with Bentley in GT World Challenge Europe

Classic & Modern Racing will return to the GT3 scene this year by teaming up with Bentley. The French team, which had hinted for several weeks about its intentions, will field two Continental GT3s in Sprint and Endurance.

“We announced our intention to move to GT3 mid-season last year and we have since had extensive discussions with several manufacturers., explains Charly Bourachot, the CMR team director.

The Bentley brand has a century-old history that matters to us, and customer racing is where the passion for motorsport begins. The Continental GT3 is a very impressive car that has enjoyed success all over the world in the hands of customer teams and we intend to do the same. »

The official driver of the British brand Jules Gounon will be entered in Sprint while Seb Morris is confirmed for Endurance. It is Pierre-Alexandre Jean who will have the best role by being present in both series, with the status of Junior of the brand. The rest of the crews will be confirmed later.

“I can’t wait to get back to the Sprint Cup, comments Jules Gounon. I had a few poles and podiums in the Pro-Am category in 2017 and I plan to do the same this year with the Bentley Continental GT3.

I'm also looking forward to working with CMR, they're a fantastic French team that has had a lot of success in the French GT4 Championship. With Bentley we can help them move to GT3. The Continental GT3 is the ideal customer car and we have seen other teams win races on their first starts. I don't want to put pressure, obviously. »

CMR will be the third team to field Bentleys in GT World Challenge Europe with K-Pax Racing and Team Parker Racing.
