Kick-off for a more than undecided 2022 Clio Cup season

The Clio Cup makes its comeback in 2022 on the Paul Armagnac track in Nogaro / @ Grégory Lenormand / DPPI

This is the first meeting in a series of fourteen events. For its big return to competition, the 2022 Clio Cup is kicking off its season on the tarmac of the Circuit Paul Armanac, in Nogaro in Gers. All three on the podium in the Clio Cup Europe last year, Nicolas Milan, David Pouget and Marc Guillot will be there again this weekend.

The tenors meet

The start of this 2022 season in Nogaro will therefore be the scene of an epic clash between three experienced drivers, and as victorious as ever. Crowned on the European scene and in the Clio Cup Spain and France (formerly Group B and D), Nicolas Milan (Milan Compétition) will, as always, be a formidable contender for victory, with his thirteen career titles. Facing him, Marc Guillot, his teammate and winner of the Clio Cup Italy and Eastern Europe (formerly Group A and C). Without forgetting, David Pouget (GPA Racing), already winner at Nogaro and titled in the Clio Cup Spain in 2019. A more than challenging field.

The young shoots will also have their say, in this series seen by many as one of the springboards of French and continental motorsport, let us cite pell-mell: Alexandre Albouy (GPA Racing) and the Pole Jerzy Spinkiewicz (Uniq Racing), crowned in the Clio Cup Spain and Eastern Europe last year. But also Julien Baziret (Vic'Team), Guillaume Maio (GM Sport), Antoine Bordagaray (Team Borda Rally), Léo Jousset (Milan Compétition)…

The Gentlemen Drivers category will also be extremely competitive, it will also welcome a well-known player in motorsport, in the person of Julien Fébreau, commentator of the F1 on Canal + for more than ten years, who had made a more than remarkable debut in the discipline at Le Castellet, in 2020.

The free practices can be followed this Friday morning, live on the discipline's social networks, before the more important deadlines from Saturday to Monday!
