Covid-19 – Start of TCR Europe 2020 postponed to September
The TCR Europe 2020 program is once again shaken up. Supposed to start the last weekend of June in Oschersleben (Germany), the Tourism Championship remains on hiatus until next September.
The German meeting has completely disappeared from the new draft presented by the organizers this Wednesday April 22, just like the movement of the Red Bull Ring (Austria). Replacement dates were sought by both the promoter and those responsible for the circuits concerned, without success.
In addition, the Spa-Francorchamps meeting (Belgium), planned alongside the 24 Hours during the summer, is logically postponed, just like the main test ofEndurance. As to Paul-Ricard (Var), negotiations are underway to determine a withdrawal date. The schedule has so far included an event from July 17 to 19.
In order to maintain a six-round schedule (instead of seven hoped for), TCR Europe added the Spanish circuit of Jarama at the end of the year. This hilly track has hosted the Spanish Grand Prix on nine occasions. Formula 1, then more recently the FIA GT3 or the Superleague Formula.
New TCR Europe 2020 calendar:
Zolder (Belgium): September 11-13
Monza (Italy): September 25-27
Barcelona (Spain): October 9-11
Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium): Dates to be confirmed
Paul-Ricard (or other circuit): Dates to be confirmed
Jarama (Spain): Dates to be confirmed
