Tom blomqvist scored his first victory in DTM by winning Race 2 in Oschersleben (Germany) although he had never been on the podium in the discipline. The son of the 1984 world champion WRC, Stig Blomqvist, took the advantage at the start against the pole sitter Augustus Farfus who was never able to regain the advantage afterwards. BMW achieved yet another quadruple as Marco Wittmann completed the podium ahead of Antonio Félix da Costa.
pascal wehrlein was once again the fastest non-BMW driver. By placing its Mercedes in 5th place, the Championship leader increased his lead over Mattias Ekstrom who is now 14 points behind the German after failing to reach points behind Max Martin (BMW) and Bruno spengler (BMW). Adrian Tambay (Audi) took 14th place after gaining 9 positions in the peloton.
The race ended with a red flag following the exit of the track lucas auer (Mercedes) which ended up in a wall of tires. Timo Glock (BMw), the winner of Race 1, took 7th place.
