Constructors' champion brand at the end of the 2024 season, Mercedes returns in 2025 with high ambitions in DTM, and the desire to win the drivers' crown this time. Team Landgraf, last present in 2023, is making its return to the category and will be able to count on the services of Lucas Auer. The German driver, vice-champion in 2022, will be the road captain of this team, since he will team up with Tom Kalender, who will discover the jousts of the DTM. The latter will make history in the discipline by taking the start at Oschersleben on April 26. Indeed, at 17 years and 30 days, he will simply become the youngest driver entered in Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, in the history of the championship. Kalender still has experience in GT3, since he won the title in ADAC GT Masters last year, becoming at the same time the youngest champion in the history of the discipline, alongside the Finn Elias Seppänen.

For Team Winward, who continue their partnership with Mercedes in the DTM, the partnership with Maro Engel continues, with the aim of improving on their third-place finish achieved at the end of last season. Frenchman Jules Gounon will be entered for the first time for the full season in the German championship, after a last-minute replacement for last year's Hockenheim finale. Gounon, who will also be entered in theAlpine A424 Hypercar n°36 in WEC, will therefore carry out a double program with the German manufacturer. The driver and his second employer will meet in the paddocks of the World Championship ofEndurance, given that Mercedes-AMG will line up two cars in LMGT3, in collaboration with the Iron Lynx structure.
