Ekström keeps his hand

Mattias Ekström (Cupra EKS), the first winner of the Pure ETCR in 2021, is off to a very strong start this season. At the end of his semi-final, the Swede is firmly at the top of his group. Bruno Spengler (Romeo Ferraris) manages to get to the front row of his final.

Ekström keeps his hand

Mattias Ekström with 60 points seems well on his way to winning the first round of the FIA ETCR season, the 100% electric Touring Car World Cup. All that's missing is for the boss/driver to finish his final on the podium to pick up his first victory of the season. The Cupra driver won his semi-final without having encountered too much opposition from Mikel Azcona (Hyundai Motorsport) or Bruno Spengler (Romeo Ferraris) who fought hard to gain second place. The Canadian, a beginner in the discipline, finished second in the heat, which placed him on the front row of the final alongside Ekström. Azcona, who was a bit surprised, will try to grab a few places to finish on the final podium of the weekend.
