Max Verstappen is launching his assault on the 24 Hours of Nürburgring (May 14-17). Following his 2025 season, during which he raced on the Nordschleife with the aim of competing in the Green Hell, the four-time world champion of Formula 1 He is participating this Saturday in NLS2, the second round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a preparatory championship for the 24-hour race. He was initially second, as the opening round scheduled for Saturday, March 14th, was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
The Dutchman got his day off to a perfect start by securing pole position early this morning. Alongside Frenchman Jules Gounon and Spaniard Daniel Juncadella, he will try to maintain his advantage during the race, which will begin at 12:00 and last four hours.
To follow the trio Max VerstappenDaniel Juncadella and Jules Gounon, we will have to keep an eye on the Mercedes Benz-AMG GT3 #3, that is, the same number used by the Dutchman in F1 this season. Many other drivers are competing at the Nürburgring this Saturday, including Dorian Boccolacci (Porsche 911 GT3 R nº17), Mattia Drudi (Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO nº34), Sho Tsuboi (Mercedes-AMG GT3 nº47), Maxime Martin (Mercedes-AMG GT3 nº80), Raffaele Marciello (BMW M4 GT3 EVO nº98) and Mirko Bortolotti (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO II), among others. The BMW M3 Touring 24H will also make its debut in the SP-X category with Jens Klingmann and Ugo de Wilde.
