Estoril replaces Vila Real in the calendar

Theater of the second meeting of the 2021 season, Vila Real (June 26 to 27) will not be able to host the Tourism World Cup this year.

Health restrictions made it impossible to organize the round. where the number of spectators cannot be controlled due to the urban configuration of the circuit ". As a result, the meeting is relocated to the Estoril circuit which keeps the same dates.

" There priority has always been to keep a WTCR race on the calendar for the 2021 season, explains François Ribeiro, president of Eurosport Events, promoter of the competition. Although it is a shame not to be able to enjoy the warm welcome of Vila Real for the second time in a row due to Covid-19, in Estoril we will be able to count on a circuit with a great reputation for racing »

Don't panic for Vila Real. If the urban round is canceled this year, Eurosport Events has confirmed the signing of a new agreement covering three years from 2022. The WTCR will therefore return there in a year.
