Ferrari pulls out all the stops with AF Corse and SMP Racing in Pro

Ferrari will participate in the GT World Challenge Europe 2020 with great ambitions. AF Corse and SMP Racing will enter two 2020 evolutions of the 488 GT3, and the drivers chosen are not famous unknowns.

In the Italian team, we will find the outgoing winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in GTE Pro Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado, as well as hopeful Nicklas Nielsen, winner of the GTE in the European Le Mans Series last year. “It’s special to drive with two such experienced drivers. This will be a valuable opportunity to learn from them. We have everything we need to be competitive, says the 23-year-old Dane.

As for the Russian structure, there will be no boasting either. The old pilot Williams en Formula 1 Sergey sirotkin joins the official representatives of Ferrari in Grand Touring, Davide Rigon and Miguel Molina.

“I'm delighted to return to the championship after missing out on the title by just one point, indicates Davide Rigon. JI'm very curious to see what Sirotkin can do with the 488 GT3. We will do everything possible to support him so that he is quick from the first sessions. »

“After the first runs, I am already satisfied with the relationship I have with the team, explains Sergey Sirotkin. I feel confident about my acclimation to the discipline. I hope we will be able to fight for the top of the basket in the first race. »

The season is scheduled to begin in Imola (Italy) on July 25-26.
